Why we collect your information
The Dozie Owerri Association, Abuja Chapter ("the Association") collects the information on the membership form only for membership administration and related legitimate Association activities: verifying eligibility, maintaining the register of members, communicating with members, and contacting your next of kin in an emergency.
What we collect
Personal and contact details, Owerri origin and community details, your National Identification Number (NIN), an optional alternative identification number, a passport photograph, and next-of-kin details.
Sensitive information
Your NIN and identity details are sensitive personal information. They are encrypted when stored, masked on routine screens, and visible only to officers who have been explicitly authorised. We do not ask you to upload your NIN slip.
Who can see your information
Access is restricted to authorised Association officers. Every access to sensitive identity data and every export of member data is recorded in an audit log. The internal member directory shows only your name, membership number, status, community and occupation, never your NIN, date of birth, address, next-of-kin or private contact details.
How long we keep it
Membership records are kept for as long as you remain a member and for a reasonable period afterwards as required by the Association's rules. Incomplete draft applications and closed applications are deleted after the retention periods configured by the Association.
Your rights and contact
You may view and update your contact details in the portal at any time. For any other privacy request, including access, correction or deletion, contact the Association's privacy contact shown below.
